Main Features:
PT-288-B is a type of manual insert card reader with contact IC and
contactless RF card.
1) with RF card,IC card R&W function,cards confirm relevant
criterions,refer to specification.
2)simultaneously with RS232 and USB interface.
① PT-288-B001 automatically scans communication port as serial
port,recognizes USB
interface only powered by USB. As connects to PC by USB,D6 green
lamp light,D5 green
lamp glitters for a while then extinct,means USB connecting
success( HID user defined
device driver free for WINXP and above)
② When PT-288-B001 is power by RS-232,it will automatically select
RS232 port,
4PIN power cable and 232 serial port cable,D5,D6 green lamp light.
③ What kind of interface communication is select by using what kind
of interface power
supply is available at the moment of switching on.
3)operation life time: 500,000 cycles
4) support PSAM card extension.
5) support on-line IAP renew firmware(realize remote upgrading).

Maintenance:
After long time usage, transportation mechanism would wear and
tear, dust on sensor,, IC card contact
will influence the performance of module, so it should be
maintained on a constant basis.
Detail instruction is as following:
Insert a cleaning card with alcohol and execute auto test IC card
several times to clean IC card
contact.
Periodic maintenance: Maintaining the module ( IC contact,
Mechanism) every 20,000 cycle is
recommended.
( One cycle: card in and card out )
IC card contact maintenance: Insert an IC card with alcohol;
execute auto test IC card.
Cautions:
1. Make sure power is disconnected before maintenance to prevent
the device from damage.
2. Oil will dramatically influence card reader’s performance,
please keep the device from oil absorbent
adhesive.
3. IC card insertions direction: when cards is inserted from the
front,IC chip faces up,the end with IC
chip
4. Magnetic card insertion direction: Magnetic stripe face down and
keep it to the right
